Pastor Kenneth C. Paulding, 76, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Mercy Hospice, Johnston, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, January 23, at Maranatha Open Bible Church, 414 E. 27th Street. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm Friday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.

Ken was born June 22, 1933 in Des Moines to Bernice and Coney Paulding. He served in the US Marine Corps. Ken served as Pastor of Maranatha Open Bible Church for 26 years. From 1964 to 2006 he owned and operated his appliance business, K and P Appliance in Des Moines. Pastor Ken’s greatest gift was caring for and taking care of people as he spread the Word of God. He spent time visiting and praying for people in hospitals and other places. He loved spending time with his family. Ken enjoyed racing cars and bowling. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; his children, Preshia Paulding (Buldaupt), Tangy (Snow) Soderblom, Tammy, Lisa and Aaron; his grandchildren, Kenna, Kenny, David, Daylin, Beau, Brendon, Erin and Amber; 4 step grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his son and daughter, Kenneth Jr. “Bub” and Penny his brother, Richard, his sister, Dorothy.
