Ramona Booth

Ramona LaVonne Booth, 81, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Bright Kavanagh House surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service will be held at 6 pm Wednesday, January 20, at Capitol Hill Christian Church.

Ramona was born August 28, 1928 in Des Moines to Mable and Robert Allen. She worked for 30 years at Mercy Hospital, retiring as a housekeeping supervisor. Even after retirement Ramona kept volunteering at the hospital, in the Frenchway laundry and the hospital gift shop. She was a member of Capitol Hill Christian Church and had been a member of Chesterfield Christian Church. Ramona loved being with her family. She loved each and everyone of them. She enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans for her grandchildren and other family members. She was very proud of being a member of Weight Watchers and spent many hours figuring how much she had lost by taking part in that program.

Ramona is survived by her children, Rita Booth, Ron (Becky) Booth and Cheryl McCombs; six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; her sister, Helen Molskes of San Diego, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don M. Booth. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
