Margaret Clair Perry, 69, passed from this life on January 13, 2010, peacefully with her family at her side.
Margaret was born June 14, 1940 to Hubert and Yvetta Ulm in Des Moines. She went through confirmation at Central Lutheran Church and graduated from East High School in 1958. Margaret worked various jobs over the years, she worked at Western Tool and finally retiring from Blue Cross/Blue Shield in 1996 after 18 years of service.
Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family, she was her grandkids biggest fan at all of their sporting events. She loved to shop, always finding a good deal, playing cards, swimming, dancing, fishing, camping and going on long walks.
Margaret is survived by her sons, Douglas (Mora) Beckett, Michael (Kelly) Beckett, Brent (Frank) Beckett and Scott (Kelli) Marnin; father, Hubert Ulm; siblings, Judy, Donna, Jack, Martin, Ardella and Kathy; nine grandchildren, Shawn, Amanda, Ryan, Casey, Jordyn, Spencer, Kyle, Jacob and Justus; four great-grandchildren, Savannah, Michael, Lillian and Layla; and many other extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Yvetta; first husband, Harold Beckett; second husband, Terry Marnin; third husband, Doug Perry; and her brother, Jerry.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Altoona followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.

Dear Judy and Family,Iam So sorry to hear about Margarets passing.We worked together many years at Blue Cross. She was a VERY special, kind, giving ,loving lady that i admired. I will always remember her. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time.

Dear family,
I am very sorry for your loss. Margaret was a very special friend/second mom to me, very caring, loving, honest, and grateful person. I worked with Margaret for many years until she retired in 1996. I hadnt seen or talked to Margaret since she retired. I remember she was looking forward to retirement, and spending more time with you kids,and grandkids. Margaret mentioned you kids, and grand kids often, and how proud she was of each of you. I could tell she loved you all with all of her heart just by the way she spoke of each of you.

Meet You At The Gate
A beautiful garden now stands alone,
missing the one who nurtured it
But now she is gone,
Her flowers still bloom, and the sun it still shines,
But the rain is like tear drops ,for the ones left behind,
The weeds lay waiting to take the gardens beauty away,
But the beautiful memories of its keeper are in our hearts to stay,
she loved every flower even some that were weeds,
So much love she would plant with each little seed,
But just like her flowers she was part of Gods plan,
So when it was her time he reached down his hand,
He look through the Garden searching for the best,
That's when he found Margaret, it was her time to rest,
It was hard for those who loved her, to just let her go,
But God had a spot in his garden, that needed a gentle soul,
So when you start missing Margaret, remember if you just wait,
When God has a spot in his garden, She'll meet you at the gate....
