Jack McFarland

Jack McFarland, 66, passed away at his home January 14, 2010.

Jack was born March 24, 1943 in Indianola, IA. He worked for Dahls Foods for many years, most recently at Dahls Fleur. Jack was a very social and well known person, a friend to all. He absolutely adored his family and loved to travel with his wife. Jack was a skilled craftsman who loved doing home remodeling. He also loved listening to music and riding his ATV.

Jack is survived by his wife, Virginia “Ginny”; children, Jackie (Randy) Armstrong, Shawn (Sue) McFarland, Christine (Carl) Franzon, Matthew (LaShunda) McFarland, Joseph Heggen, Brooke (Dale) Austin and Candice Potter; brother, Clifford McFarland, Jr.; and 18 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Sr. and Martha McFarland and his brother, Charles.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. A lunch reception will follow the service where the family will greet friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the John Stoddard Cancer Center.
