Dorothea Wagaman

D. “Irene” Wagaman, 94, passed away Wednesday January 13, 2010 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. She was born on January 5, 1916 in Iowa Falls, Iowa and later moved to Des Moines.

“Ma Breezy” owned Breezy Hill Drive In Restaurant. She worked for the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy for ten years and retired from the State at the age of 86. She was a member of First Federated Church in Des Moines.

Irene is survived by her children, Kay (Blaine) Goff; Sheila (Glenn) Bailey; Jon (Joyce) Christensen, Sylvia (Steve) Perry, Judi (Jon) Murphy; her sister, Mildred Lehman of Emmetsburg, IA; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; sister, Gerre Coulson; and two grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2010 at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions may be made to First Federated Church Missions or the Animal Rescue League in loving memory of Irene.
