Nyla Prueitt

Nyla I. Prueitt, 83, of Des Moines died on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Ft Des Moines United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery in Guthrie Center at 3 P.M. Saturday. The family will greet friends from 6-8 P.M. Friday evening at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home.
Nyla had been a school teacher, a beautician and had taught at the Iowa School of Beauty before retiring from Traveler’s Insurance. She was a member of the Ft. Des Moines United Methodist Church where she had served as financial secretary, sang in the church choir and belonged to the U.M.W. She had also volunteered at hospice.
Nyla was a devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and is survived by her son Gary (Diana) Kesselring of Des Moines, her brothers, Ollie Slaybaugh of Stuart and Vern (Marge) Slaybaugh of Panora, her sister-in-law, Betty Slaybaugh of Guthrie Center, her grandchildren Kim (Kesselring) Beltrame of Des Moines, Jill (Tom) Alessio of Des Moines, Marci (Scott) Armstrong of Winterset and Nicole Kesselring of Des Moines as well as her great grandchildren Alexander, Garrett, Kaleb, Trey, Tyler, Taryn, Camden and Cade.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fort Des Moines United Methodist Church.
