Shirley Emery

Shirley Emery, 75, passed away January 7, 2010. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.

Shirley was born August 9, 1934 to Byron and Ruth Pace in Winterset, Iowa. She was a Youth Service Worker at Meyer Hall in Des Moines for many years. Shirley planned her retirement in 1999 for the sole purpose of watching her two great-grandchildren . . . they were her pride and joy and the loves of her life.

Shirley is survived by her granddaughter, Heather (Kurt) Hobert-Hoch; two great-grandchildren, Landen and Ireland; cousin, David Duffy and other extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Emery.
