We're so sorry to hear of Gayle's passing. Riding on the back of his car after our wedding is a memory we will always cherish. Gayle always made Iowa football road trips a blast with his humor and friendship, and like others have said, anytime we hear "Go Dodgers!" or "Get R Done", we'll always think of Gayle. He will truly be missed.

To Gayle's family,
I am so sorry for the loss all of your are going through right now. He was one of the kindest people I have ever known. He made everyone feel so important and wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time. I am so grateful that I was able to spend some time with him in the hospital, I just wish I would have been there more knowing this would happen. He is a great man. I will forever remember him and love him. My heart goes out to all of you.
Deepest thoughts and lots of love,

Gayle is one of those people that makes you a better person when he is in your life, even if it's just for a passing moment. I have never seen someone more dedicated to his family and friends or more infectious in his zest for life. Gayle may have moved on but I pray that Diane and family gain comfort in knowing the impact Gayle had on everyone that was lucky enough to come within his reach; the world has lost a loyal and loving husband and father, sincere friend, goofy grandpa, world-class jerky maker, lucky pool player, blindly loyal Hawk fan, consumate bs'er and the list goes on but he left it a better place than when he entered it.
"Hey hoser", you are already missed!

To our special friend Diane and Gayle's family,
There are no words to express the loss Chuck and I are feeling at this time. Gayle and Diane have been such wonderful friends the last several years and losing Gayle has taken a lot of the brightness out of our lives. We feel so fortunate to have been able to have this man as our special friend. Gayle always had a smile on his face and a hug in his arms for everyone. We can't remember him ever saying a bad word about anybody and he enjoyed life to the fullest. We will miss him beyond words, the lake will never be quite the same. Everytime we hear Go Hawks, Go Dodgers, and Get R Done, we will think of Gayle, not to mention all his other famous sayings. We love you both and will never forget our special, true friend.

Diane and family,
We are so sorry to hear that Gayle has passed on. Words can't explain how sorry we are and how we feel. Gayle was loved by so many people and was the life of the lake. The lake will never be the same without him, no matter how much we try. Heaven definitely got another great person that we weren't done with. Gayle's last words, "I don't care who you are, getter done!"
We will be always their for you.
