Bernard F. Meek, 92, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Trinity Luther Park.
Bernard was born June 7, 1917 in Des Moines to Frances and Anna (Brown) Meek. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Bernard was a dental technician for Dental Arts.
Bernard is survived by his children, Linda (Denny) Mack, Albert (Sherry) Meek and Donna Gustafson; sisters, Wilma (John) Whitehurst and Carol (Emil) Arbtin; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; two brothers; and his wife, Florence.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be directed to Trinity Center at Luther Park or Hospice of Central Iowa.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Bernard Meek. However, I am eternally grateful to him for being such a wonderful father for my sister, Linda Mack. He was truly a good man.
