Marion Bales

Marion Gene Bales, 73, was born April 26, 1936 to Charlie and Elfa (Davis) Bales in Carbon, Iowa. He passed away December 15, 2009 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Marion enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and especially playing bingo, fishing and gardening with his tractor.

Marion is survived by his wife Colleen Bales; his children, Brian (Becky) Bales, Blake Bales, Willis (Melinda) Bales, John (Ali) Tyler, Janice (Joe) Easley and Carol (Danny) Bales; his sisters, Helen McCleese and Irene Rigby; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Marion was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Sherry Bales and 10 brothers and sisters...

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2009 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Sunday December 20, 2009 at the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Marion.
