Betty Fry, 75, died Monday, December 14, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She was born on June 25, 1934 in Lynnville, Iowa to Benjamin and Lauretta Verwers.
She was a member of Eastern Star in Altoona.
She is survived by her son, Merlen Fry; daughters, Marti Rosenberger and Brandi Leverich; grandchildren, Lindsey (Aaron) Herting, Lauretta Leverich, Merlen Fry, Johna Leverich; great-grandchildren, Ella and Chase Herting; one brother and one sister. Betty was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW. Burial will follow at the Altoona Cemetery. A visitation with the family present will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2009 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Betty.

Marti, Brandi, Merlen and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Aunt Betty was very special to me my entire life. She will be greatly missed. Even though I am unable to be there please know that I am thinking and praying for you. Smile knowing that she is finally "home" with Uncle Jack.
