Norman Smith

Norman Wayne Smith, 82, died December 12, 2009 at Parkridge Nursing and Rehab.

Norman served in the Navy during WWII, was a “Mr.Fix It” and was very proud of his avocado tree that he had nurtured from a seed.

He is survived by son, Mark Smith; daughters, Vickie Van Devender and Marcie (Richard) Kellis; brother, Richard Marshall; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sons, Charles and Allen Smith; brother, Robert and sister's, Beverly and Bernadine.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, burial of the cremated remains will be at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, IA at a later date.
