Well Doug you are now in the presence of our Lord and you Mother and you
Father whom you loved so much.
I have so many good memoies of you , you were always so special to me.
I remmeber when I would come over on the weekends and take care of you and your brothers and sister so the folks could go out and have a nice quiet dinner. You never gave me any trouble at all.
I have thought about you almost everyday for many years and was heartbroken when I heard that you had passed, but I know you are in a better place with a new mind and body and for that I am thankful.
I will see you someday Cousin,
I love you,
Jeannie

Well after reading the message from Dan and Deb I was able to to enjoy the much younger years again. It has been so long. We all had fun together Granny closet, basement, grampas garage but most of all just the Sundays all together. What has happen to those Sundays? No matter when or where, Doug was there enjoying it as much if not more. Cindy, Dave an Johnny my sincere condolences to you and your families. I can't tell you how much I admire your love and strenghth for your brother. You have truely honored your Mother and Father's wishes by your love and care for him. And Doug enjoy what only we can imagine Rock On Brother, Sing to Jesus!

We have such fond memories of Doug - especially the period of time so many years ago when Doug was probably about 20 yrs. old. Iola Kalvig and I held a special Sunday school class for Doug and we brought our daughters along. It was a very special time for all of us and we know it was a time for your Mom, Florence, to have a little time by herself. I will always remember how Greg so enjoyed the class and especially singing "Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus". I am in a Memoir class and have written about Doug, as a special individual that God put in our lives. Please accept our sympathy and know that your brother was very special. May God bless and comfort you at this time of sorrow.

Although I know that Doug is in a much better place, my heart still aches for the loss of my beloved cousin. Upon careful reflection of our times together, I realize how much he taught me about life, tolerance, acceptance and love. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to see and visit with him this past year. He always has occupied a very special place in my heart and he always will. His love of singing and "dancing" is among my most favorite memories of him.
My heartfelt condolences to his brothers and sister - they made sure that he was always in a safe place and well taken care of. Their sacrifice, if it can be called that, has always been an inspiration to me and my family. We love you all very much!
Doug has progressed from singing "Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus", to being in the very presence of our Saviour. Good work, cousin! We will someday see each other again.

To all my cousins,I'am so very sorry for the loss of Doug.Have not seen him in such a very long time but he was never forgotten.I have great memories of being at grandmas house on a sunday afternoon and all of us kids playing elevator in her downstairs closet. We would all get in and Doug would say, going up and he would even make the noise and his whole body would go up and down like it was the vibration of a real elevator. We had so much fun with him.Another memory is when he would sing ,Stand Up for Jesus in front of the tv when dad and uncle Frank were watching a ballgame and uncle Frank would say,you can stand up for Jesus ,but your going to sit down for your dad.Well Doug you can stand up for Jesus all you want to now,no one will ever stop you again. You are an angel now and may you rest in peace.
