Shirley J. Barnett

Shirley J. Barnett, 74, passed away December 4, 2009, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, December 10, 2009, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Shirley was born October 9, 1935, in Des Moines to Charlie and Melva Kelley. She retired from Iowa Lutheran Hospital where she worked as a cook for many years. Shirley enjoyed swimming, shopping and spending time with her family.

Shirley is survived by her children, Vicky Hofer, Pam Johnson, Bert Johnson, Jr., Clarence Thompson and Clarissa Button; brother, Jim Kelley; sister, Cindy Sorensen; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
