Randy G. Gray

Randy Gray, age 73, of Ankeny, Iowa passed away peacefully at Taylor House in Des Moines, August 20, 2023.

Randy was born May 25, 1950, in Webster City, Iowa to Orville R. and Eleanor L. (Bell) Gray. Randy graduated from South Hamilton High School in 1968. He later went to study at Northwest Missouri State.

He enjoyed spending time with his family. When Randy wasn’t spending time with his family, you could find him cheering on his favorite football teams, watching old westerns or playing solitaire on his computer. Most recently he really enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lois; son, Paul (Dora) Gray; sister, Debra Gray; brothers-in-law, Charles (Nancy) Loomis and Dean (Janet) Loomis; grandchild, Eleanor; niece, Darci (Dan) Gutfreund; nephews, Jackson Bussanmas, John (Jamie) Loomis, James (Casaday) Loomis, Joel (Beth) Loomis, and Joshua (Cherie) Loomis; and many other loving family members and friends.

Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Gray; father, Orville Gray; father-in-law, Homer Loomis; mother-in-law, Wilma Loomis; and brother-in-law Layton Miles.

All services will be held at Bondurant Federated Church, 103 2nd St SW, Bondurant. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2023. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2023. Burial will take place Bondurant Cemetery after the service. There will be a luncheon at the church following the graveside service.
