Mary Green, age 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Bishop Drumm in Johnston. She was born the daughter of Larry and Mary Louise Elizabeth Hendrickson on April 13, 1943 in Des Moines, Iowa. Mary was a longtime employee of the City of Des Moines. In her free time, she enjoyed fishing, cooking, and mostly, playing with her great-grandchildren. Mary was one of a kind and knew how to make others laugh.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Robert “Bob” Green Jr. (Jeni) Green; loving grandchildren, Tamara (Corey) Simmons, Tanya (Collin) Vlieger, Robert “Bobby” Green III, and Victoria (Roger) Hillabolt; great-grandchildren, Connor, Carter, Roman, Sullivan, Winston, and Oliver; sister, Zella Jean Hinshaw; son-in-law, Steve Piper; former sister-in-law, Darlene Robbins; and her former husband, Robert Green Sr.

Mary was preceded in death by her daughter Robin Piper.
