Michael Gene McCullough was born December 19, 1959, in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, at the age of 63.

Mike had so much love and happiness that he shared with so many family and friends! He helped anyone who needed it and gave so much of his time to fixing cars, mowers, carpentry work, concrete work and much more for little or no pay at all. Mike loved his family and ended each call or visit with “I love you”. We miss him so much already, but we’re thankful he no longer suffers from the pain. Rest in peace, Mike. We love you!

He is survived by his wife, Lisa McCullough; son, David McCullough; stepdaughter, Melissa McClellan; grandchildren, Rachel and Adam Long; sister, Cindy McVey (Randy); and other extended family and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his daughter, Sara Comegys; father, Robert J. McCullough; mother, Geraldine E. Clingenpeel; stepfather, Robert H. Clingenpeel; sister, Brenda J. Shawhan; and brothers, Robert J. McCullough and David A. McCullough.

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines at 11:30 a.m. Luncheon to follow at American Legion Hall, 1511 South Union Street, Des Moines.
