Debra Marchant, 69, passed away on August 12, 2023, at her home.
She was born on March 29, 1954, to William and Bertha (Statler) Smith in Des Moines, Iowa.
Debra is survived by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth “Gene” Marchant; children, Pamela (Fred) Jones, Sarah (Jeff) Jenkins, and Jill (Chad) McDowell; mother, Bertha Smith; siblings, Steve (Twyla) Smith and Rusty Smith; grandchildren, Patrick Kellis, Kendra (L.J.) Fremeow, Marissa Kellis, Dakota Marchant, Aspen McDowell, and Braylon McDowell; great-grandchildren, Rarity, Colin, Nazayeh, Aurora, Carlee, and Troy.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Smith, and her grandparents.
The family will greet friends Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Debbie will be laid to rest at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.
