Frances B. Nordenson

Frances Nordenson, 90, passed away surrounded by her family, Monday, November 30, 2009. She had been at Kavanagh House one day.

Frances was born July 3, 1919, in Des Moines. She graduated from North High in 1937, attended AIB and began her career at Fitch Company. In 1946 she married Carl Nordenson and became the mother of four while working full time. In 1957 she began working at US Bankruptcy Court where she remained until 1989. She was a dedicated worker, but enjoyed sharing life with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Anthony Bailey of Des Moines; her sons, Rick (Mary) Nordenson of Wilmington, DE, Steve (Karen) Nordenson of Norwalk; her daughters, Linda West and Mary (Tom) Corbin of Des Moines; her grandchildren, Blythe, Elise, Terry Lynn, Stephanie, Susie, Erin, Julie and Mike; and her great-grandchildren, Mikayla, McKenzie, Andrea, Curtis, Jessica, Dylan, Marana, Sydney, Megan and Hudson. Carl, her loving husband, preceded her in death in 1970.

A visitation will be held Saturday, December 5th from 10 am to 12 pm at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A memorial service will begin at 12 noon followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
