Dixie Hillebo

Dixie Lee (Sparks) Hillebo, 84, passed away August 8, 2023 at Methodist West Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born June 29, 1939 in Chariton, Iowa to her parents Lee and Ola (Wright) Sparks. Dixie enjoyed gardening, crafting, and antiquing. Most of all Dixie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was also a member of Palestine Lutheran Church for many years.

Dixie is survived by her kind hearted husband of 60 years, Stanley; children, Tammy (Jerry) Hans, Brenda (Kevin) Tilley, and Rodney (Christopher Sayavongchanh) Hillebo; grandchildren, Monica (Travis) Driscoll, Travis (Lisa) Hans, Derrick (Jessica) Hans, Hogan (Hallie) Tilley, and Avery Tilley; great grandchildren, Madisen, Corbin, Ava, Ashton, Cooper, Lily, Austin, Hazel, and Wesley; sister, Colleen Walker; brother, Robert (Pat) Sparks; and a host of other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by parents, Lee and Ola Sparks; and siblings, David Sparks, Leona Stoler, Florine Pirtle, and Jackie Smith.

Family will greet friends from 10:30 to 12:00 p.m. with a time of sharing from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines with burial to occur at 1:30 p.m. at Palestine Cemetery in Huxley.
