Ann Elizabeth Edgar
August 10, 2023
Ann Elizabeth Edgar, 91, of Des Moines, Iowa went to be with Her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 10, 2023.
Ann was born November 17, 1931 in Webster City, Iowa to Helen and David Daniels. She was their fourth child and the baby of the family for almost nine years until her youngest and last sibling, Janis, was born. Their family farm was outside of Duncombe, Iowa. She attended a one room school house and sometimes would ride Tony the pony to school. Her school lunch was often a potato left to bake on the coal burning stove.
She attended Ft Dodge high school where she graduated in 1950. Several years after high school she and her best friend, Marilyn, took the train from Boone, Iowa to San Bernardino, California. She was met at the train station by friends and family of Marilyn. Among this group was her future husband, Charles Owen Edgar. Charles was an Air Force pilot stationed at George Air Force Base. They fell in love and were married nine months later on October 17, 1956. Their first daughter, Kelly Elizabeth (Bartlett) joined them in 1958 and Jennifer Lynn (Wiegand) in 1960.
Ann loved being a military spouse and enjoyed the many bases they were stationed. In 1972, when Charles retired from the Air Force, they moved to Webster City, Iowa where they were able to spend time with Ann’s family and make some wonderful lifelong friends. In 1989, Charles career moved them to Miami where they lived for several years and eventually led them to his final job at Delta Airlines in Atlanta, Georgia. Ann loved her home in Stockbridge, a suburb of Atlanta, where she lived for almost 30 years. In 1999 she lost her dear Charles after over 40 years of marriage. She amazed her family and friends in the way she was able to take care of her home and yard up until she moved in her 89th year. Her last 2 years of life were spent in Des Moines with her family. She loved to remind her family that life is just memories and we are so blessed to have such wonderful memories of her.
Ann loved her country, friends, family and most of all her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Through her church and Bible Study Fellowship, her faith deepened in the knowledge of God’s word. The last word she uttered was, “Jesus”.
Ann is survived by her daughters, Kelly (Jim) and Jennifer (Joseph); grandchildren, Charlie (Samantha), Carolyn (Donnie), John (Julianne), Katherine (Ryan) and Emily (fiancé, Nathaniel); great -grandchildren, Miller James, Donald James, Jack Charles, Lara Olivia, James Arne, Clyde Owen, and Jack Daniel.

Kelly, Jennifer, and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Although I only knew Ann for a short time, (in our neighborhood), it was easy to see what a beautiful, kind, faith-filled woman that she was.
I'm thinking of and praying for your family.

I felt so very blessed to have known Annie even for only 2 years when she moved to Des Moines. I became her hairdresser! She not only had beautiful hair, but also such a beautiful heart and she was a ray of sunshine when she came to visit me! I just adored Annie! I already miss her! God Bless her family! ♥

So blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know Ann in Bible Study Fellowship this last year. She was one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met. We were in the same discussion group and her deep love of Jesus was very evident. She will be missed. Condolences to her loved ones and family members.
