Dorland E. Danhauer

Dorland E. Danhauer, 85, passed away July 31, 2023. He was born February 21, 1938, in Grand Island, NE to Ellsworth and Violet Danhauer. Dorland graduated from Marquette High School. During his lifetime he had careers farming, managing his construction company, and long-haul truck driving.

In his free time, Dorland enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, reading, and sharing his knowledge regarding business and politics.

Dorland is survived by his children, Dennis (Diana) Danhauer, Kim (Richard) Bailey, Dale (Jan) Danhauer, and Daniel (Renee) Danhauer; grandchildren, Kelly Hummer, Trampus, Travis, Tangela, Chad Danhauer, Josh and Jacob Bailey, Andrew Vejvoda, Taylor Danhauer and Isabella, Harrison, Winston, Gabrielle and Adyline Danhauer; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Dorland was preceded in death by his former wife, Flora Danhauer; his parents; siblings, Jerald Danhauer and Sondra Lofland; and grandchildren, Katie Bailey and Lily Danhauer.

Services will be held Monday, August 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA with visitation prior from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines following the service.
