My Condolences to the Reed family. Denny was a long-time friend. Weve Already been missing him for the last 5 years: at the house, in the garage, at the drag strips, at many Cruise Nights, at Good Guys, and talking to him about the Des Moines Dragway. Thanks for the many fond memories.

My heart felt condolences for the family loss. I didn't know Denny all that long. I was just a kid when my dad, Bob Johnson ran the Des Moines Drag Strip. Probably somewhere around 1965-1967? He was a nice man and a serious and avid racer. My dad would let me drive the tractor and the cars around the grounds back then albeit 12-14 years of age. One Sunday I left the tower to go get or do something and got in my dad's econoline/van and back up down the return lane only to meet up with Denny's mustang. I dented the trunk and felt sooo bad. To my recollection, my dad apologized and offered to fix the dent. Denny refused. That's what I remember about Denny. Such a nice guy.
