Audrey M. Warner peacefully passed away in her home on Friday, July 21, 2023, at the age of 97.
Audrey was born November 24, 1925, in Floyd, Iowa to Eldred and Hazel Dodson. She was the only daughter out of seven children. All six of her brothers precede her in death. She moved with her family to Des Moines, Iowa at an early age where she attended Windsor Elementary School.
She married the love of her life, Clement Warner, in 1946. They raised a family of six children, three boys and three girls. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. She also ran a business making and selling beautiful wedding and birthday cakes. She always enjoyed doing crafts, bowling, golfing, camping, fishing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Clem and Audrey were winter Texans for many years and loved to go dancing at the American Legion every Wednesday night. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary the March before Clem passed away in 2011.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Clement and her son, Alan.
She is survived by her remaining children: Dick and Donna Warner of Rhode Island, Janet Greer of Nebraska, Gene and Diane Warner of Wisconsin, Debbie and Keith Merryman of Missouri, and Jeri and David Tillman of Missouri, 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Van Meter, IA on Monday, August 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
Audrey will be greatly missed by all of her many family and friends.

Such sweet soul She will be greatly missed. She and Clem were such a joy to be around at the dance and jam. Clem being his onery self and Audrey being sweet and just shaking her head.

Janet, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She was such a sweet person and I loved her sugar eggs for Easter display. She made our wedding cake and a sugar bible. Many happy memories being at your house. Prayers and hugs during this difficult time🙏🏻🥰
