Etta "Tootie" Kimmel

Etta Mae “Tootie” Kimmel, age 80, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023.

Tootie was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Jim and Ada Heathcote on April 22, 1943. She married the love of her life, Robert Kimmel, Sr. on June 19, 1960. To this union, three sons were born: Bobby, Jr. (Christina) Kimmel of Des Moines, Rick (Sue) Kimmel of Peru, and Dennis (Tina) Kimmel of Des Moines.

She is survived by her husband, all three sons, her sister, Gloria Reynolds, 13 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren.

Tootie was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Bob, Bill, Elizabeth, Jim, Charley, Jack, Geneva, and Karen, and a great-grandson, Aden Kimmel-Booth.

She had a love for WWE wrestling, dirt track racing, and cooking.

A small private family burial will take place July 31, 2023.

Flowers can be sent to Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines for delivery to graveside service.
