Elija Seymour

Son, father, brother, grandson, godfather, cousin, nephew, and an awesome friend. These are some of the many titles used to describe him. Elija was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 6, 1988. He passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023.

Elija was adopted alongside Areonna, Michael, and their little sister, Toni, by Isaac “Big Daddy” Seymour and Arnzie Seymour.

Elija was mostly known for his athletic abilities in football and wrestling. He was coined with the nickname “Baby Bull” by friends for how hard he hit on the field. Graduating from East High School, Elija worked alongside his family at the widely known “Big Daddy’s BBQ” in Des Moines, Iowa. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing video games, and being outside.

“A big heart”, Elija was also known for always helping people, and his smile and laughter could brighten anyone’s day. He was a man’s man and honored his parents. Though a “baby bull”, he was a gentle hearted giant. He was preceded in death by his birth mother, Tammie and his father, Isaac “Big Daddy” Seymour. He is survived by his mother Arnzie, siblings, kids, and family. He will be missed by all of us and will never be forgotten. For he will continue to live in all our hearts and memories.
