Lorraine Brownell

Lorraine Brownell passed away on July 14, 2023 at her home at the age of 64. She was born on October 17, 1958 to Harold and Marianne Ahlberg in Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up in Des Moines and attended Lincoln High School.

Lorraine enjoyed her work as a legal secretary for many years until her retirement. Lorraine loved crosswords, and playing scrabble. She loved tending to her plants, gardening, and cooking and she was a talented photographer and artist. Lorraine was a loving mother, proud grandmother, and a dog mom – and she was well loved.

She is survived by her daughter; Emily (Jeff) Theis; Grandchildren; Margaret and Randall Theis; siblings; Diane (Rob) Just - Ahlberg, Mary Whitehurst, Brian Ahlberg, and Dennis Ahlberg; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Charles.

There will be no public services at this time.
