Palmer Claire Berry
July 08, 2023
On the morning of December 20, 2022, Max Berry and Kathryn Rauch welcomed their beautiful baby Palmer Claire into their lives. Their hearts and souls were warmed by the joy that came with her birth. Sweet Palmer gave them a purpose in life as well as the happiness and contentment of being her mommy and daddy. Palmer was a happy baby whose calm demeanor and quick smile made her such a joy to be around for all who had the pleasure of meeting her.
Palmer was just beginning to show her beautiful personality. She was full of life and always loved being present in the moment. We will never forget how our beautiful daughter always had her arms out to embrace herself and her surroundings. Palmer loved to see the world and Max and Kathryn made sure she didn’t miss one second of it. The photos and videos of her experiencing the world around her are now cherished memories. She was a flourishing social butterfly, with Max and Kathryn taking her to a wide variety of events such as their first hockey match, watching Kansas State and the Chiefs play, as well as Kathryn’s LSU Tigers. They also enjoyed concerts, festivals, farmers markets and flea markets. She had no qualms about wearing her hot-pink noise canceling headphones when needed and was simply adorable in them.
Palmer is forever loved and adored by her parents, grandparents Steve and Karen Berry and Jenny Breaux Rauch, great grandmas Mary Lou Miller and Glenna Ray Berry, godparents Uncle Jacob Berry and Aunt Ariel, and Aunt Stevie Berry. Many great aunts, great uncles, and friends are also mourning the loss of sweet baby Palmer.
Palmer was also a favorite of the wonderful staff at New Horizons Day Care. We know they’ll miss seeing Max and Palmer sitting on the bench waiting for them to open. The outpouring of love and support from them has been a tremendous blessing during this time of tragic loss.
The entire family would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the Des Moines based non-profit organization Walk With You, and especially their wonderful co-founder Kylie Collins, whom without her unwavering support to the entire family would have made this terrible loss truly unbearable. Jamie and team at Hamilton Funeral Home have also been a great source of guidance and support through this journey.
To show our support, and love, a service will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Weston Parkway, West Des Moines, IA 50266. Respects can be made between 3:00 and 4:30, visitation with family will begin at 4:30 and the service will begin at 6:00 PM. A later service will be held in Houma, LA.
In lieu of flowers, Max and Kathryn ask that you please consider giving to Our GoFundMe Account or donating to Walk With You Foundation.
We love you, Palmer. Thank you for everything.

This is an absolutely unimaginable loss. We are truly sad to hear of your family's grief. May your daughter's smile be the driving force that helps you get through this inexplicable pain. Although, we never met your angel in person we always saw her being dropped off in the mornings as my daughter too, would be walking through the doors at the school. Palmer may you rest in peace sweet love. You are dearly dearly missed by everyone.

Max im so sorry, I can never imagine the pain. Please keep your faith, and remember that life on Earth is only one part of our journey. It took me decades to wake up and believe in God, and it helps. Be mad at him now it's natural, but turn to him right after because your going to need your faith brother. God will heal you if you let him. Love you brother. Be strong
