Jean Marie Thompson

Jean M. Thompson, 79, passed away at home November 29, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, December 5, 2009, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Jean was born August 25, 1930, in Des Moines. She enjoyed NASCAR, crossword puzzles, country music and gardening. Jean worked for Lortex Inc., and retired from the Textile Union after 25 years.

Jean is survived by her children, Kelly (Bud) Beach, Julie (Kenneth) Lehman, Sheri (Greg) Knuth and Michael (Pam) Millard; sister, Diana (Bob) Vandervort; brothers, Jerry and Charles Parker; grandchildren, Robert Blish, Kenny Lehman, Jennifer Beach, Buddy Beach, Catherine Hackett, Christina Knuth and Patrick Knuth; and great-grandchildren, Max Blish, Mayson Blish, Jaydon Beach, Johnathan Fontanini, Alexis Hackett and Rebecca Passmore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Thompson; mother, Etta Parker; father, Reuben Cox; brother, Jack Cox; and sister, Marilyn Pratt.
