Israel Medina, age 62, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

Israel was born January 4, 1961, in Harlingen, Texas to Thomas Medina and Esperanza (Rodriguez) Medina.

Israel's love for travel was evident in his frequent visits to his hometown. He cherished the moments spent with his family, and creating lasting memories. But it wasn't just his hometown that he loved; He loved adventures. Exploring new cities and trying out different restaurants became his way of experiencing something new and exciting.

Music was a constant companion in Israel's life. He had an extensive collection of Texan artists and songs that held a special place in his heart. He would often share his favorite tracks with others, spreading the joy and appreciation for the local music scene.

Work was another passion that drove Israel. He found fulfillment in taking on various projects, whether it was his job at Bridgestone or engaging in home activities during his days off. He believed in the value of hard work and was never one to stand still. From a young age, he had been instilled with a strong work ethic, and it became an integral part of his identity.

Israel's impact on people's lives was immeasurable. His sense of humor brought laughter and joy to those around him. His honesty and genuine nature earned him the trust and respect of many. But his greatest gift was his ability to bring people together. Whether it was through his infectious laughter or his genuine interest in others, Israel had a way of forging connections and fostering a sense of unity.

He is survived by his wife, Lucero and two their children Lucero Esperanza Medina and Alicia Medina. He is also survived by his children Marisol Medina, Moses Medina, Jose Medina, Jessica Medina and Israel Jr Medina.

Israel was preceded in death by his parents Tomas and Esperanza Medina, his daughter Maria Medina, brothers Tomas Jr., Juan, Ramon, Hector, and Martin Medina and sisters Esmeralda, Lucia and Lupe.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
