Jerry E. Kenworthy

Jerry E. Kenworthy, 79, passed away June 30, 2023 at the VA Medical Center in Des Moines. He will be laid to rest with military honors at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 9:30 am.

Jerry was born January 13, 1944 in Des Moines to Harris and Ruth Kenworthy. He was married to Linda Kenworthy for 17 years. Jerry worked for Massey Ferguson for 17 years and later as a self-employed drywall finisher for 35 years. His ethics for hard work were uncompromised.

He had a special place in his heart for the elderly and was selfless when it came to giving a helping hand. Jerry had a strong moral compass and wonderful sense of humor. Jerry valued exercise and always stayed fit. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling.

Jerry is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Irene Cameron; children, April (Randy) Stephens and Dan (Kathleen) Kenworthy; grandchildren, Amber, Brandy and Jordan; great-grandchildren, Camarin, Tobias, Iain, Cayden, Ellis and Payton; and sister, Delores (Bob) Holland; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Tom and Keith Kenworthy.
