Carolyn Erickson

Carolyn Marie Erickson passed away on June 29, 2023 at Ramsey Village Care Center in Des Moines. She was born in Jackson, MN on April 7, 1940 to Ole and Sarah (Tungland) Halsten.

Carolyn lived in Santa Ana, CA for 32 years before returning home to Des Moines in 1994. While living in California she was a member of the United Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker and a great cook. Carolyn enjoyed playing cards, shopping, bowling, fishing and doing jumbles puzzles. Above all, she loved spending time with friends, family and especially her grandkids.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Donald; daughter, Julie Erickson-Bowe; sons, Donnie Erickson and Jeff (Angela) Erickson; grandchildren, Don Jr (Lauren) Erickson, Alexandra Erickson, Adam Erickson, Andi Erickson, Christopher (Angel) Erickson, Dylan Erickson, Brayden Bowe, Logan Bowe and step grandson, Rob (Kristin) Saf; siblings, Jerry Halsten, Sharon Critchlow and Sandy Halsten.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Marvin Halsten, Jim Halsten and Ron Halsten; sister-in-law, Christine Halsten and brother-in-law, Larry Critchlow.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 12:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., - 12:00 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home.
