Carol Wypich
June 27, 2023
Carol Joan (Herron) Wypich was born in Osceola, IA in 1937 to parents Edwin and Helen Herron. The family later moved to Weldon, IA and Carol graduated from Weldon HS in 1955. After graduation, Carol moved to the “big city” of Des Moines, IA, and has lived there ever since. She met and married Heinz Wypich in 1958.
Carol loved to travel, and she and Heinz traveled extensively, including trips to Germany multiple times, all around Europe as well as all over the US. She especially enjoyed going to the ocean shores and the deserts of Arizona.
Carol worked at UPS for 23 years and made many lasting friendships there. She retired in 1999.
Carol was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Kenneth Herron, and her son Jeffry Lynn Wypich.
She is survived by her husband Heinz, her sister Virginia Crouse, and brother Richard Herron. She is also survived by her daughter Lora Kander (Mark) and their children Kelsey Ellender (James) and Lindsey Kander. She is also survived by her daughter Carla Moon (Bryan) and their children Katie and Samantha Moon. Carol had the great pleasure of meeting her great granddaughter Avery Ellender a few months ago. Carol’s grandchildren were her pride and joy and she spent many wonderful times with them over the years.
Please join our family at a Celebration of Life Memorial on Friday, July 7th from 6pm to 8pm at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., DSM 50313.

My thoughts and prayers to Heinz and the rest of Carol's family. I worked with Carol at UPS. She also sold Stanley Products for my Mom, Maxine Olson. She was such a joy to be around. I always enjoyed the lunches she was at. May she be at peace!
