Ruth Carson

Ruth Carson, 61, passed away June 27, 2023 at her home.

She was born July 15, 1961 to her parents Franklin and Carolyn (McDaniel) Carson in Des Moines, Iowa. Ruth loved crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She also enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. Ruth loved her houseplants and always had a new plant at home. Most recently she worked at Iowa Total Care. She also had a very strong faith in the Lord and loved spending time with her family.

Ruth is survived by her children, Tina (Donald) Oviatt, Adam Carson-Sparks; sister, Rachel (Dean) Merrell; niece, Erica (Andy) Gilliland; nephew, Daniel Merrell; and great nieces, Oliva Gilliland and Fiona Gilliland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Carolyn Carson.

Service will be held on their own at Living Waters Fellowship, 3000 SE 22nd Street, Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday, July 8, 2023. Family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with memorial service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Ruth will be laid to rest at Gosport Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa at a later date.
