Richard Lee Kinley, age 77, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with ALS.

Rich was born September 28, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa to Raymond and Marie (McCormick) Kinley. He graduated from Dowling High School and Drake University. Rich proudly served in the United States Army and afterwards built his career in management.

Rich was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Rich grew up on the golf course and helped at the family business - Kinley’s Golf and Sports. He loved playing courses around the country with his brothers. Rich retired to Florida where he enjoyed the sunshine and golf year-round.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy; daughter, Kerri Rush (Tim); son, Mike; stepdaughters Abby Chandler; and Sarah Sirianni (Nick); and his beloved grandchildren Hannah and Sarah Rush; Will and Anna Chandler; and Noah, Drew, Ryan and Elle Sirianni.

Rich was preceded in death by his mother and father; and brothers, George and Jack.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, July 3rd at Christ the King Catholic Church at 5711 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, IA. The family will greet friends from 10-11 am. A Mass of Remembrance will begin at 11 am. The burial will follow at Avon Cemetery in Des Moines.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the ALS Association or Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
