Gary D. Mobley

Gary Dean Mobley, 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

Gary was born December 18, 1946, in Des Moines, Iowa to Gerald “Bud” and Rosemary (Boggs) Mobley. Gary was a proud Eastsider, graduating from East High School in the Class of ’64. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and worked for Armstrong Titan Tire for over 40 years prior to his retirement. Gary was an avid golfer, often traveling to experience other courses. He was also a bowler in his younger years, participating on many bowling leagues.

He is survived by five nieces, two nephews, numerous cousins, and countless friends. Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Dana Mobley and his parents.

There will be a celebration of life from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial with military honors will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2023, at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adel.
