Nancy "Nya" Gray

Nancy “Nya” Diane Gray, 79, passed away on June 10, 2023 in West Des Moines. She was born on February 28, 1944, the daughter of Paul and Helen (Bowling) Cary and moved to Des Moines in 1988.

Nancy was a very spiritual woman. She enjoyed going on Buddhist retreats and mediating daily. Nancy was active in Metaphysical understanding. She loved the outdoors and traveling. Nancy was a Feng Shui Interior decorator and a message therapist. She will be remembered for her open, unconditional loving heart.

Nancy is survived by her husband, James Miller; daughter-in-law, Melissa Gray; granddaughters, Ashley Gray, Hanna Gray, October Gray and Fiona Ellis-Gray; great grandson, Kai Whittington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul A. Gray; sons, Paul D. Gray and Damon “Tony” Gray

Per Nancy’s wishes there will be no services. The family will have a private burial.

Love & memories to Nyas family. She was a gentle wise soul. We once traded a tarot reading for a Fung Shui consultation. She was in no hurry as she sat and absorbed the space of each room, giving thoughtful suggestions. I just realized its Buddha Day, and she was my fave Buddhist. 🪷

Hello Jimmy and family members. Im sorry I didnt learn of this until today. Im so sorry for your loss. Nya was my good friend in Des Moines when we met in massage school. We stayed friends and attended meditation retreats together. She inspired me to take on a meditation practice. I mis her. Much love, Linda
