Robert Craig "CT" Turney

Robert Craig Turney (also known as CT by many people) 71 passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at his home unexpectedly in Des Moines, Iowa.

Robert was born on July 6, 1951, to his parents Bob and Gloria Turney in Des Moines, Iowa. He was the only child of his parents. He graduated from Saydel High School in 1970. He was in the concrete construction business most of his life doing the finishing work on driveways, sidewalks, basements, and parking lots. He played guitar and owned several of them. In his younger years, he played in a band performing at various venues around the Des Moines area. He was an avid pool player. (Some called him a Pool Shark or Pool Hustler since he was so good at it) For many years he shot pool for various teams in league play.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his only child Christopher Jon Turney.

He is survived by his wife Debbie of over 40 years. He is survived by his brother-in-law Dan (Cheryl), sister-in-law Dorothy (Rick), and brother-in-law Brad. He also is survived by nieces and nephews. (Stephanie, Brad “BJ”, Aaron, Ryan, Jason, and Crystal)

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, also at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
