Fred Tingle
June 09, 2023
Fred Allen Tingle was born on January 12, 1936 and passed away suddenly on June 9, 2023 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
He was born in Runnells, Iowa to Everette and Grace Tingle. He married Wanda Gulling on July 6, 1956 and they were married for 18 years until her passing. They had 3 daughters, Kim, LeAnn and Joni. Later he married Dee Davison and they had one son, Troy. They were happily married for 48 years.
Fred spent his working years at SuperValu Warehouse in Urbandale, Iowa working a number of jobs. While he enjoyed his retirement, Fred loved raising and riding horses, working with his John Deere tractor and watching westerns. More than all of these things he loved his family, wife, his daughters and their families, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and all of his extended family and friends.
He was quick with a laugh, a joke and a story – he also might have been a little bit ornery. He loved helping his neighbors mowing and snow plowing or anything that involved a tractor. You knew he was coming to your door when you could hear him whistling, and left you saying “Keep Smiling”.
Fred was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda; his daughter, Kim Kincaid; son Troy; his parents, Everette and Grace and his brothers, John and Jim Tingle.
He is survived by his wife Dee; daughters, LeAnn (Scott) Parker, Joni (Greg) Champion; son-in-law, Kenny Kincaid; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the A-T Children’s Project in his honor at atcp.com.
A celebration of Fred’s life is being held at the Runnells Community Center, 108 Brown Street, Runnells, Iowa on July 30, 2023 from 2:00 -4:00 p.m.
