Stacey Gibbs Lehr
June 02, 2023
Stacey Gibbs Lehr an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2023. For the lucky ones who knew Stacey they will remember her beautiful smile, unending strength, generous spirit, and perfect sense of humor. The impact of her life cannot be placed into words but can be found in the smiles of her children and the immense loss felt by her husband, family, and friends.
Stacey was born to Bill and BJ Gibbs on September 16, 1980. She was the youngest of three girls and grew up loving sports, time with cousins and friends, trips to the mountains, and shopping. She was an accomplished athlete holding the record at Xavier High School for Most Offensive Rebounds in a game for more than a decade. Stacey attended the University of Iowa where she cultivated her passion for design, Hawkeye football, a good cocktail, and adventures with so many friends. Stacey became a graphic designer working as an employee and freelancer until she had the opportunity to join a small stationery business. She would later become the owner and visionary of Pink Print Co. and loved her shop, customers, and being an entrepreneur. Stacey’s dreams came true when she met Kent Lehr. She knew instantly that he was her forever and they were married on May 30, 2015. Their love produced three beautiful children all who have the very best of their mom within them. The titles of wife and mother completed her world and the past 10 years filled her heart with so much joy.
Stacey’s life will live on in her husband, Kent Lehr; their children, Jude, Louis, and Olivia; her parents, Bill and BJ Gibbs (Cedar Rapids); sisters, Emily and Marshall Porter, Stephanie and Tim Leuck; the nieces and nephews that she adored, Sophia, Hudson, Ella, Sam, Gabe, and Charlotte; her in-laws who loved her as their own, Sheryl and Dr. Stuart Lehr (Scottsdale, AZ); brother-in-law, Peter Lehr; and best friend-in-law, Michael (Lauren) Hubbard. Members of the Gibbs, O’Neill, Lehr, and Nassif families. In addition, she leaves behind friends who have known her since childhood (The Girls) and some she just met. We all have been blessed to have been loved by her and are committed to keeping her light alive.
Stacey brought so much beauty into the world through her business, ability to style homes, help her sisters and husband pick out the perfect outfit, write an incredible letter, create the perfect schedule for the kids, or simply by the sparkle in her green eyes that made you feel like the most important person in the world. She loved her family with all she had, and the depth of our grief shows the profound impact of her love.
We will celebrate her wonderful life in a gathering at Des Moines Golf and Country Club on Thursday, June 8th from 4-7 PM and a Catholic Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Parish in West Des Moines at 10 AM on Friday, June 9th. Memorials may be made to Food Bank of Iowa and Blank Children’s Hospital Child Life Program.

Only knowing Stacey through the eyes of her beloved grandmother, Jo, I can only imagine the pain of losing her. May God guide you in your grief and may she sleep in heavenly peace.

Kent,Jude,Louis, and Olivia you are in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. May God wrap his arms around you with comfort. I will forever have the image of Louis and Stacey kneeling down by him during our Valentine party while working on a project. The joy on his face was precious. We talk a lot about the angels around us though we cant see them, now he has a very special one. She is forever in your hearts.
