Ellen Darlene Marfut, 84, passed away on May 27, 2023 at Adel Acres. She was born in Devils Lake, ND on March 27, 1939, to August and Sofie Peterson.

Ellen’s career was loving and taking care of her family. She enjoyed cooking, camping, and going to the casino.

Ellen is survived by her children, Pam, Ed, Letty, Belle, Marty, Harvey and Terry; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; 3 daughters, Darlene, Patty and Margie; grandson-in-law, and 10 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Family will greet guests from 1:00-2:00 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home.
