Patti Marie Vos passed away May 27, 2023. Services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 10:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3301 Ashworth Road, West Des Moines, Iowa with visitation the evening prior from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, Iowa.
Patti was born October 2, 1968 to Dale and Patricia Sturgeon in Bloomington, Illinois She graduated from Central High School in Waterloo, Iowa and received her Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University.
Patti married Vincent Vos on December 29, 1989 in Chicago, Illinois at the Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Four children were born to them, Taylor, Mackenzie, Emeline and Sarah.
Patti worked in the bakery department at the Urbandale Target and most recently in the cafeteria at Indian Hills Junior High school. She was an avid crocheter and knitter, was very crafty and artistic. Her calling as compassionate service leader, a role she held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is how she lived her life. She was a loving sister and daughter, an incredible friend and a patient mother.
Patti is survived by her husband, Vincent; her children, Taylor (Andrew) Vos, Mackenzie Vos, Emeline Vos and Sarah Vos; her parents, Dale and Patricia Sturgeon; her siblings, Catherine (Kevin) Carroll and Janet (Greg) Miller; many nieces and nephews, her special friend, Nicole (Jeremy) Jolley and her cats, Salem and many others.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Grover and Leta Robinson and her paternal grandparents, Cecil and Opal Sturgeon and her parents-in-law, Harold and Patty Vos.

My thoughts and prayers are with Vince and the rest of the family. I remember when Vince and Patti lived in Waterloo. Patti will be missed by all who knew her.

My thoughts are with you at this time. Your mom was a special person. She did such a wonderful job raising you kids. I saw her almost every weekend when she worked at Target. Every conversation we had was about your accomplishments and how proud she was of you!

I am so sorry for the loss of Patti. I was a custodian at Indian Hills and we had many good times working together.. She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed everyone around her. She will be deeply missed. God bless the family.
