Sherri L. Kern, 49, passed away on May 22, 2023, at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital.
Sherri was born April 6, 1974, in Des Moines, Iowa to Ken and Martha (Aguiniga) Fritz. She was an undergrad from the University of Iowa in 1998 and received her Masters of Physician’s Assistant Science in 2006 from Des Moines University. She worked for Nationwide for over 14 years.
She married Tony Kern on June 5, 2004. She always wanted to be a mom and was blessed with her son, Oliver on September 18, 2014. Tony and Oliver were her world. She was very caring and the best gift-giver. She would always find the perfect gifts. She was very devoted to her family and her grandma Rose.
Sherri is survived by her husband, Tony Kern; son, Oliver; parents, Ken and Martha Fritz; brother, Ken Jr. (Scott) Coronet; niece, Quinn Coronet; and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Primitivo “John” and Rose Aguiniga and Wayne and Mary Fritz; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League or her family in loving memory of Sherri.
