Cheryl R. Zahn, 74, passed away on May 16, 2023, at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital.
Cheryl was born October 12, 1948, to Robert and Stella Cox. She met her husband, Jim playing softball as a left-handed shortstop. She was head of the customer service department at Meredith Corporation.
She took great pride in being a self-taught cook, being involved with Animal Rescue, and gardening. She loved her roses and just being outside.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Jim Zahn; children, Laura Zahn and Scott (Michelle) Zahn; grandchild, Addison Zahn; siblings, Robert (Luann) Cox and Bruce (Cathy) Cox; and nephews, Jason Cox and Thomas Zahn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Stella Cox.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Cheryl will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery following visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Kiya Koda Humane Society in Indianola in loving memory of Cheryl.

I worked with Cheryl at Meredith for years. She always took the high road in her business dealings and treated everyone the same. Rest in Peace Cheryl and condolences to her family and friends.
