William A. Gaynor

William Arthur Gaynor (Bill), age 66, passed away March 20, 2023.

Bill was born January 2, 1957, in Wiesbaden, Germany to Richard Leroy and Emma Lois (Morgan) Gaynor.

He loved his family. He also loved fishing and joking around. As an “army brat” the family moved frequently, and he attended several schools ending at Roosevelt High School in Des Moines. He worked at a variety of jobs and loved finding humor in life wherever he went.

He is survived by his children, Laura M. Garrett, John T. Parkin (Carrie), and Joseph W. Gaynor (Crystal); several grandchildren; brother, Richard Gaynor (Robin); sister, Kathleen Bason (Fred); several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents (above); wife, Sharon K. Parkin-Gaynor; and sister, Patricia A. Gaynor-Benge.

There will be a Memorial Picnic (see Facebook) on Saturday, May 27th, from 1 pm to 8 pm, Celebrating the Life of Bill Gaynor at Fort Des Moines Park, Shelter 1.
