Michael Bud Sonderleiter, age 62, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023, at his home in Des Moines.
Michael was born September 29, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa to Bud and Leola (Watkins) Sonderleiter. He graduated from the Greater Des Moines Education Center. Michael worked for the family window manufacturing business for decades. He enjoyed visiting Prairie Meadows, watching movies, spending time with his family and friends, and music was his number one love.
He is survived by long-time partner, Diane Apel; his twin sister, Mary Kay Sonderleiter; his brother, Gary (Rose) Sonderleiter; and a host of extended family.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Leola Sonderleiter; and his brother, Dennis Sonderleiter.
Cremation will occur and there will be no services held at this time.

I knew Moose & Mary K, along with Gary and Dennis, Bud and Leola since I was going to Wallace. Been through a bunch. Sorry to see you go my friend. My condolences and prayers for all who knew him and especially to the family.

Mike you will be missed. I enjoyed our talks about music and the people we knew from East High. It is a small world when we realized my Mom grew up across the street from your family. You and your twin sister were just babies when she married my Dad and had me. She really loved your family. I'm saddened to know you left us to soon amongst so many of our friends here in the past couple year's. Hope you all celebrate together ❤
