Daxton David Richards

The brilliant light of Daxton David Richards moved to his next adventure in heaven on May 1, 2023. Though only 7 years old, Dax touched a multitude of lives with his sweet demeanor, his infectious belly laughs, and his famous High-Five’s. Which it turns out makes your brain release dopamine – a chemical that boosts happiness – and Dax was all about spreading happiness! He loved adventure and anything involving being outside - taking rides on golf carts, boats, bikes and roller coasters. He loved taking walks - especially around Universal Studios and SeaWorld, and spending time on the beach. Among all things, he treasured wrestling with his sister and playing with his brother.

Dax lit up the world and touched the heart of everyone he met. This sweet boy will be dearly missed by his parents, Kendra and Andrew; his siblings, Reese and Quinton; his grandparents; his aunts and uncles; and of course, his fur babies, Puppy Zadie and Kitty Tucker.

Waiting to greet Dax as he arrived in heaven were his great-grandparents, Buster, Mavis, Ruby and Mimi; his PMS brother, Keaton along with all his other PMS siblings.

Services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA with visitation Friday, May 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. and the funeral service on Saturday, May 6 at 11:00 a.m. The family requests wearing “Phelan Lucky” shirts or anything green for the visitation on Friday, and casual beach themed attire on Saturday as Dax would have wanted!
