William "Bill" Cleghorn

William “Bill” Daniel Cleghorn, 65, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023.

Bill was born August 20, 1957, in Des Moines, Iowa to William Cleghorn and Jeanette Millard.

He worked for Quality Manufacturing for 26 years, and for Ihle Fabrication since June of 2022. Bill loved the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time camping, golfing, hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, and spending time with his many friends. He loved playing Baggos with Mary, Scott, and Vicki. In his younger years, he was on bowling and dart leagues with Vicki, and he loved to dance. Bill was an avid Hawkeyes, Vikings, and Cubs fan, and he enjoyed attending the Iowa State Fair. He loved his fur babies who have passed on and the puppies who survive him – Bailey and Cooper.

He is survived by his partner, Vicki Collings, with whom he would have celebrated 31 years in September; son, Corey (Jamie) Kelleher and granddaughter, Cora; son, Travis Cleghorn; siblings, Mary (Scott), Pam, Patty, Randy, and Tina; many nieces, nephews, and the Morrill family.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Cleghorn and Jeanette Millard; and his sister, Polly.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 1, 2023, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery after the service.
