Steven Ray Pollock

Steven Ray Pollock, age 72, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023.

Steve was born September 4, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert and Marjorie Pollock.

Upon graduating from East High School in Des Moines, and enlisted in the United States Navy. He served for four years in California and Hawaii. Steven was married to Jeanette Kish, and they had two children – Tina and Bryan. The couple later divorced, and Steve moved back to Iowa to be closer to family.

He worked as a driver for Des Moines Asphalt until his retirement. Steve was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local Union 90. He enjoyed fishing, gambling, and being on the farm. He loved spending time outdoors and was a simple man.

Steven is survived by his sister Sharon Morris, brother Gerald (Rosie) Pollock, children Tina (Ron) Feola and Bryan (Stephanie) Pollock, grandchildren Gabriel and Julia, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Marjorie Pollock, brothers Larry Pollock and Gary Pollock, and brother-in-law Tom Morris.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Waukee Cemetery, Waukee, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Steve.
