Robert Lee Poole

Robert Lee Poole, age 83, passed away April 10, 2023, at his home in Des Moines due to natural causes.

Robert was born December 19, 1939, in San Diego, California to Walt and Irene Poole.

He worked in construction as a roofer during his working years.

He enjoyed traveling and fishing. He also loved country music. He was a gifted guitarist and had a talent for playing spoons.

Robert is survived by his long time live in companion Rose Beeson, his daughters Tanya (Poole) Leonard and Sandy Poole, three grandchildren Breana Leonard, Ryan Poole and Josiah Poole, two great grandchildren Aiden Matthew Poole and Ezekiel James Poole, his sisters Pat Cochrane and Ella Gwartney, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Walt and Irene Poole, two sisters Judy Kindhart and Mary Mahaney, and two brothers Billy Poole and Chuck (Butch) Poole.

Robert has selflessly gifted his body to Des Moines University for anatomical and surgical study.
